LA, I think I'm gonna like it here

I recently took a new position in The Army and had to relocate to Los Angeles, CA.  I’ve lived in Baltimore for the past 15 years of my life so of course I was excited for a change of scenery.  I’ve been here 3 weeks now and already I’ve noticed some major and minor differences from the east coast.  The first being the weather and the scenery.  I don’t think it’s been above 80 since I’ve been here.  Mostly 70 and if it has been 80, it hasn’t been very humid.  That’s means it’s never too hot or chilly. Plus the sun is always shinning. The song was 100% correct, it never rains in southern California. The sun shining makes the days nice and makes you want to be out enjoying the sunshine.  Also, everything here looks so posh or stylish.  Everything from Starbucks to The CVS has a trendy sort of upscale look to it.  It looks great for sitting outside on a sunny day.

The people are a lot friendlier here in LA.  I think it’s all this sunshine.  With weather this nice, you have no reason to walk around frowning.  When you speak to them on the street they speak back instead of just looking at you.  There is also a diverse look to the city.  I think it’s because you have so many people here from not only across the states, but from across the world.  On the other hand, everything’s for show.  It’s nothing to see a Tesla or Corvette pull up next to you in traffic and you can definitely tell a lot of people here are on Front Street.

One difference I do like is the culture.  It’s similar to what you see on TV, but different.  One is the music.  I attended a step show and cookout this past weekend, and I swear I heard nothing but YG.  In between performances during the step show they played YG every time, and not just recent YG or radio hits.  They played tooted & booted like 3 times.  They dress similar but different from us.  Since it never really gets cold, there is no need for a big coat.  I don’t think I’ve worn a hoodie once since I’ve been here.  West Coast lingo is dope I’m still trying to learn it.  All in all LA is a great place to be and I think I’m gonna like it here.
